The check-in days at the university were April 3rd and 4th. I flew nonstop from Denver Int'l Airport to Narita Int'l Airport (UA 139). Haneda Int'l Airport is actually closer to Tokyo than Narita, so there are better options for one to take. I opted for my flight because it was nonstop. Once arriving in Narita, I went to the station located on the bottom floor of the airport. For about 2500 yen, I got an IC card (allows you to travel via train by scanning) and enough to make it to the university. Click "Read More" to see a brief guide on getting from Narita Airport to Saitama University. The cheapest option to get to the university is to ride the Keisei train line to Nippori station. From there, use the blue line called "Keihintohoku" toward Omiya. It is a nonstop ride to Kita-Urawa station, which is the closest station to the university.
Once arriving at Kita-Urawa, go outside and find bus stop #5; it goes to Saitama University for about 200 yen. It is a little hard to find, so look for the kanji "埼玉大学" (Saitama University) to be sure. A word of warning: The last bus is usually at around 10 p.m., so be sure to arrive before then. If all else fails, go to any taxi and say "Saitama Daigaku" and they will help. Just know that it is very expensive. (1200 yen from Kita-Urawa and around 20,000+ from Narita airport) All international students stay at the International House (I-House). Type or copy and paste "国際交流会館1号館" into Google Maps once you reach the university. Most students know where it is located, so it is easy to ask for directions if you still do not have internet. Go to the first building of I-House to check-in and all is well!
